OSX KeySync locks up with no obvious activity when saving file

Description
I am running 10.10.2 with Nexus 5 5.0.1 Stock (no fancy rom).
When I click on "save the ChatSecure keystore file" to my desktop, it stays there for really long time.
Eventually I have to exit the app because it wasn't showing any signs of activity.

this part of the sync uses MTP, which never really worked so well on Mac OSX. MTP was invented by Microsoft so maybe there is some bad blood there ;-). Anyway, we really need some OSX contributors these days, we're mostly running Ubuntu, Debian, etc. these days.
