briefly spoke with some twilio guys who said to send them more information so that they can potentially work on this.

hmm... neat idea but pretty well outside ostn as the whole Twilio infra is closed and opaque

I think Twilio makes a SIP user agent written in JavaScript. This would mean we could embed a SIP phone on a web site.

Twilio might not be the one to do this. Here's a generic SIP client using lotsa cool new HTML 5 tech.
Looks promising!

WebRTC looks like a better system to work with. I'm deferring all browser SIP phone research in that direction.
