Not easy to build, especially on Windows 8

I have spent the last 5 hours working on getting the code to compile on windows by following the instructions from the README, to no avail. I had to download ant and add it to my path, as well as attempted to find mvn to download and add to my path. I never could get mvn to work, and even before I needed to use it, there was no way for me to get the code to compile in eclipse while following the instructions. I tried multiple variations and had no luck. Specifically, there was an issue with there being a dependency issue related to multiple versions of the android-support-v4.jar files that were located in the various subfolders of the externals folder of ChatSecureAndroid. I ended up just rage quitting, and got no actual work done due to the complicated nature of building this project.
My suggestion would be to create a functional package to pull from your github, that allows developers to just import into eclipse and go, regardless of what operating system they have, instead of following multiple steps only to end in error.

I'm sorry to hear about your troubles. We'd like to support building on all platforms. We all work almost exclusively on Debian and Ubuntu because it is a lot easier to do this kind of development on that platform. But we welcome contributions to make it easier to build on Mac OS X and Windows.
Also, we're not using the maven stuff, we use Eclipse and ant. see the script ./make-release-build for more info.
