posts submitted via api are not automatically assigned to the author

this actually comprises two issues:
1) reserved namespace. GUID is part of the reserved namespace and cannot be used, therefore the custom fields have been renamed into an acceptable namespace
2) there is an outstanding issue with non-text input via json; specifically dropdown selectors. I am doing further testing on this issue.

Nate, when the time comes some debug data from the post process via the mobile app would be extremely helpful. I'm looking for where this is hanging so I can modify/attach to a hook as it doesn't follow the normal post process.
