Description
if there's no barcode scanner the program will crash.
expected: allow text input
workaround: install barcode scanning program to meet intent

Which program crashes? I'm assuming that ChatSecure is the app that crashes, rather than KeySync.

Tested and worked correctly on:
Galaxy S - Cyanogen 10.1.0 without a barcode scanner installed
Nexus 5 - with and without a scanner
Can you please specify failing device and OS ?
