Again, we are addressing this in v1 final, but just to make sure we are tracking here
"4. Annotating videos – It seems that in this version, it’s best to stay away from working with videos in the gallery. They take a long time to load (when attempting to view from the gallery) and the app crashes frequently when clicking on any of the tagging/annotation features. Additionally, the app doesn’t save any summary notes that are added. I know the annotation features weren’t intended to be fully functional at this point. Is this an issue that will be addressed with the new user interface, or is it functionality envisioned for a version further down the road?"

I updated bug report #1906 "images in the gallery" on Wednesday to included the problems I was having with the videos. That update has the details on how to replicate the problem.
