Error Reporting

these instructions were written for MX Log Collector.

Here are the steps:

  • Take a screen shot of the error
  • Open MX Log Collector
    • Choose Gmail option
    • Send to support at storymaker dot cc
    • Make "SM Morocco - Name" the Subject
    • In the email body, tell the story type (video, photo, ..) and explain the issue with as much detail as possible [This will be difficult for some people, but whatever you can add is helpful, we will use Google Translate if needed
    • Attach the Screen Shot to the email
    • Send email
  • Go back into StoryMaker
    • Go into the project with the error
    • Press the Menu button and click the "Export Project Files as Zip" option
    • Choose Gmail option
    • Send to support at storymaker dot cc
    • Make "SM Country - Name" the Subject
    • Send email

Also, some of the trainees brought up that sending the Zip File of a large project uses a lot of data (which is slow and eats their data plan if they aren't near WiFi). My initial thought is to have them save it to their Dropbox or Google Drive accounts and simply provide a link in their email. I didn't want to complicate matters any more at this point, so I told them to wait until they were on WiFi if necessary.

This process eventually needs to be streamlined to where only one email is sent containing all the relevant files. For now, the email subject was the best way I could think of to link the email chain. Please let me know if y'all have any ideas to improve this process.
