Device choice for testing and training¶
Based on Nathans advice and my own testing we'll use the Galaxy S WI-FI 5.0 also known as the Galaxy Player 5 (YP-GB70/YP-G70) in the initial testing and training period. The choice for this device is based on the following reasons:
1. Pricing (200 euro per device)
2. 1 GHZ processor
3. Screen size (5 inch) (a 7" tablet is to large to film with in a crowd, and a 3.6 inch smartphone might be tool small to edit on)
4. Camera quality (3.2 MP)
5. Security (no phone or baseband)
6. USB connector (for export of files to USB)
7. The positive experiences of GP & Witness with the device
--------> SWN is looking into this device, but has not yet concluded it is the best option. SWN is interested in testing an array of devices, particularly as this is not yet a common device. Galaxy Note and various Android phones seem to be increasing market share across MENA, however based on Brian's regional review, the Galaxy Player 5 does not have much reach among the general populace.
