On Sony Xperia U (OS 2.3.7) initial tutorial cards do not swipe properly

Description
cards swipe, but only if your finger is in just the right location. usually they snap back to the previous card.

This is not one of the devices being used in the initial workshops. Therefore its not v1 necessary and moved to the backburner.
