Description
It's been discussed before, but it has not been implemented.
Nathan and I agreed there should be a page that can be referenced from within the app to provide links for users to download the latest apps recommended by Small World News(and possibly others if they wish to sign off and we reach agreement) for mobile security. The current list is as follows:
SMS: TextSecure
VoIP/Calls: OSTel / CSipSimple or Redphone
Anonymous communication: Orbot
Browsing: Orweb
Chat: Gibberbot
Email: K9Mail
Notes: NoteCipher
Passwords: KeePassDroid
What needs to happen to make this not only a page on http://storymaker.cc/ but optimized for access and display within the app curriculum?

A placeholder has been created at storymaker.cc/apps and the content can be updated under pages on the wordpress backend. For mobile users the app can pull in the current data in JSON format by requesting http://storymaker.cc/apps/?json=1 and format it appropriately.

Nathan, please let us know whether Kevin's fix meets the need. Or is this not a decision you are making?
My read: We need to either A. somehow enable the lessons to pull the dynamic list of tools via json or B. include a link in the lessons where the user may wish to review the dynamic list of tools.

I really don't think this is a MUST have feature for v1 releases. We already have the lesson update feature, so why can't we just update the lesson content/module as needed when that content changes?

I'm not sure, what I do know, is that it is expected we provide a list of tools. I assume it makes sense to just place them at https://storymaker.cc/apps with links to download the relevant apps. Then we can include a link to https://storymaker.cc/apps. I guess we need to know whether this works for FPU?

Yes, that will do for the moment. Although we could also fix this by just adding a lesson with the links! is this doable for you Brian?

That would be fine with me niels.
I thought there was a concern about having the list not be "current."
HOWEVER based on the latest functionality of the lessons, it seems to make sense to just put it in as a lesson in Security. When we update this lesson in the future, the updated lesson will download, but will it only be downloaded if the User decides to "update" the security lesson section?
