Notifications are not generated on new chats on the recipient's device. And no notification on any subsequent messages either, until the recipient has opened ChatSecure and seen the message in the messages list. From then onwards it shows notifications on subsequent messages until chat is ended by recipient.

There is no notification for new chats even if the recipient's ChatSecure app is in the foreground but not viewing the messages list. This is also experienced even when screen locks/sleeps while ChatSecure is in the foreground.

On the sender's device, it shows 2 ticks at the bottom of the message's balloon. I assume it means that the message was successfully delivered to the recipient's device?

This is v14.0.8 over XMPP. "Chat Encryption" is set to "Automatically Attempt" and is set to use "Foreground Priority".
