Good news! This is already functioning on a galaxy nexus running 4.2.1
Bad News! This is not functioning on a samsung galaxy s2 running 4.0.4

Can we just say "Don't Shoot in Fucking Portrait MODE?!?!?"... i mean especially considering the guide overlay are all in landscape?
The problem is not the thumbnail, the problem is, how do we handle rendering of a portrait photo or video, when combined with a landscape photo or video in the same story? (for photo essay and videos)

I think if you can add a function that says "don't shoot in portrait mode" and shows up whenever the user tries to shoot photo or video in portrait mode that's fine for v1.

I think it's a tall order to suggest building integration with the accelerometer. Happy to hear what Nathan thinks is doable in a 1-2 hour time frame.
