Locale switcher doesn't stick

Description
When I switch locales and change device orientation, or go to another activity, the old locale is shown.
Killing the application and starting it again shows the new locale, which does stick from that point on.
This is on Android 4.0.

actually on the account list screen, this still seems a bit dodgy. While the select locale eventually switches, the first time you make a switch, and then rotate the account list screen, it can switch back to the default or one before.

resolved and test on nexus 7/4.2 will test on more devices.
