If user is not currently registered or is not answering the phone, have an option to leave a voicemail. Voicemail asks user to speak the ZRTP key then records the message. Called user is then SMSed the ZRTP key in an encrypted SMS for confirmation.

[Feature possible after identity stack (email, PGP, OTR, SIP) is configured?]

It might be good enough to not use ZRTP here since we can distribute the root certificate as part of the OSTel app and use SRTP. Unfortunately, CSip doesn't support operating in both SRTP and ZRTP modes at the same time and does not fail gracefully if the opposing mode is requested from the server.

simpler first step perhaps

  • Target version changed from OSTel Operations to Backlog

the current OSTN plan does not need to support voicemail. We have a million ways to securely message people, why introduce another insecure one? (see: Rupert Murdoch and News of the World)
