active chat view resets when turning screen on

Description
When multiple chats are open and the screen turns off, when I turn it on, the chat view is reset to the first chat in the list.
1. Open multiple chats (I'm using landscape mode, dunno if that matters)
2. Make chat >= 2 active
3. Push power button to turn of screen
4. Turn on screen
Results: the active chat switches to #1 instead of staying on the previously active one
