"cannot play video" -- Xperia Miro video play will not play exported photo gallery videos, codec related?

Description
if you create a Photo Gallery and export it, the mp4 file will correctly be created and it is valid, but if you hit "play" it will launch in the stock video player app and say "cannot play video". I suspect this is a codec issue.
Short term fix: have testers install VLC and use that to play exported video locally

Micah fixed this in the same patch as he fixed bug #1479

The issue was if a video is > 1080p resolution, the stock player died. we limited max size to 1080p
