App Names¶
Story Maker¶
Today on the scrum, steve announced Small World News feels strongly about going with "Story Maker" as the name of the app. Niels and Nathan agreed that this would be a great option for the name, and that we should go with it.
Potentially we could go with "StoryMakr" if we want the web 2.0 tradition of cutting the E in the name. But, that's not something we think is necessary.
The day after the scrum Niels still feels pretty good about the name, also pitched it to others who were equally enthusiastic. Especially since it exactly covers what the app does. One small remark: There is already a story maker for iPhone http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/story-maker/id419541708?mt=8 and http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/story-maker-hd/id428879894?mt=8 don't you think this poses a problem?
I'll be pitching the name to some of my Arabic speaking colleagues to check whether is also makes sense in Arabic.
A scratch pad and dumping ground for ideas/thoughts on names for the app.

- Noor (already taken, but an example of an arabic word that might be interesting)
- Kalamnee (tell me)
- Kalemni would be a better spelling of this imho (transcribed 'i' for phonetic "-??" is used more often) ~abel
- Qalam / Qalami (pen/my pen) (this word is also the same/understandable from Morocco to Indonesia due to islamic scholar influence, ie its the same in arabic, persian, dari, urdu, hindi, bangla, and bahasa indonesian -possibly also Malay? the "my" part, "i" is arabic specific )
