This logic isn't required as there is a method supported by Mozilla to add addons into apk's, https://wiki.mozilla.org/Mobile/Distribution_Files#Add-ons.
The above document has been used to make changes to jenkins-build to include in the addons before packaging the apk in commit https://github.com/amoghbl1/Orfox/commit/c6f52b5df03bfb6133c5f008f63b0d3c8b7c7559.
The current logic copies over all the addons in external/addons into the required place before the package step.
