Description
Orbot version: 13.0.6-BETA-7
Nexus 4
Cyanogenmod 10.2.1
Hi there,
Since the latest versions released in the past day or so (I'm currently on 13.0.6-BETA-7 but there have been a few) I'm getting the message "*WARNING: error starting transparent proxying!*" in the non-persistent notification that appears after bootstrapping.
This happens despite the Tor app stating that it is "Connected to the Tor network".
Up until these recent updates that notification has always said "*Transparent proxying ENABLED*".
This only seems to occur when I select specific apps to route through Tor. If I select the Tor Everything option, then I get the "*Transparent proxying ENABLED*" message and all seems well. The only problem with that is that I don't want everything through Tor as some stuff either becomes too slow to use or just doesn't work.
I've attached a logcat extract filtered on Orbot. The logcat covers the process of going from Tor disabled to Tor connected. This was with specific apps selected and at the end of the process the error message appeared as shown.
I don't think it's relevant as this hasn't changed since it worked OK, but I have the XPosed framework with the XPrivacy module installed. This hasn't prevented Orbot working before but I thought I'd mention it. The only permission category that I restrict for Orbot in XPrivacy is Identification (device).
I don't know if any of this is helpful. I'm not particularly technical but if you need more info please let me know and I'll try to get it for you.

This was a simple bug of an incorrect notification. The transparent proxying is actually working.
BETA-8 resolves this problem, and should be available on Google Play shortly, or directly from here now:
