I noticed that there is a lot of background traffic. I think te appliacion is continuosly connected to know the state of the contacts list. Maybe this could be solved if the contact list doesn't show the state of each contact. Only when you are inside a coversation the state of the contact should be shown. In a mobile phone is not important to know this information about all contacts.
